Step-by-step instructions on how to make alkasir 1.01 work
After receiving several emails from some subscribers wondering how to get alkasir 1.01 to work, I've decided to explain in detail how to get it installed and working on a Win XP or Win Vista environment.
Steps:
1) If you don't have Windows Installer 3.1, you have to install it and you can do so by visiting:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=889482FC-5F56-4A38-B838-DE776FD4138C&displaylang=en
and click on the download button next to WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe (2.5 MB) or you can also download it from alkasir.com server here then you just run and install the file on your computer.
2) If you don't have Net Framework 2.0, you have to download and install it and you can do so by visiting:
dotnetfx.exe or downloading it from the alkasir website from here (22.4 MB) then you just run and install the file on your computer.
3) Then you can simply download alkasir 1.01 BETA from:
https://alkasir.com/doc/alkasir1_01.msi
and install it. Make sure you have all your browsers closed before you run the installation file.
Tips:
- Once alkasir is operational, ensure that it is lit in the system tray (in red) as only then will it work. Sometimes, you may need to shut it down and open it again. Only if it is lit can you open the browser and try accessing blocked websites. If the icon is gray and it says 'alkasir loading, please wait...' that means it is indeed loading and you have to wait. It shouldn't take over 30 seconds to load normally. Don't run the program more than once. If it appears twice on the system tray, close both and open it again from the desktop icon.
- A main reason why some users fail to have alkasir to work is due to the fact that they have firewall or other security programs that prevent alkasir from accessing the Internet. Please ensure that alkasir is allowed to reach the internet and local files smoothly.
- If you wake up your computer after standby, you may require to restart your browser if you notice that circumvention doesn't work
- Sometimes, refreshing the alkasir (by clicking on OFF, ON) in the interface may fix the problem if circumvention didn't work
- Finally, note that this is still BETA and may not be working properly and any suggestions or feedback on bugs and errors will be appreciated.
- I recommend you read the help documentation integrated within the software (accessible through the 'Help' link on the program's user interface.
