Action Menu

Upon opening the program from the start menu or clicking on the icon on the system tray, you will get to see the interface window for alkasir:

The Action Menu (the large panel box on the right top of the main window) includes all the functions necessary for the program to work as desired.

Those functions include:

-
Reporting a blocked website
-
Updating the list of blocked websites
-
Listing currently blocked websites or websites pending review

Status Details

On the bottom side of the interface you will find some details about your connection and your active session. The details include:

- Your IP Address
- Your Internet Service Provider name (or code)
- Your country
- The service provider for the active session (See
Options and Settings )
- The submission mode (also See
Automatic Approval/Super Users )
- The Internet status
- The number of blocked websites

Furthermore, there besides the Status Details, there is the Proxy Status , which identifies if the proxy (to bypass censorship) is ON or OFF. You can click on the link to change to the other status, i.e., clicking on OFF turns it ON and vice versa. Note that although the Internet may be connected, you may choose to turn off circumvention, which means that the software will no longer allow you to browse blocked websites until you turn it ON again.

Note however that even if the proxy is OFF, you may still be able to report blocked websites and use the other functions provided that the website you are reporting to itself is not blocked (in the usual case
).
